What Winter Features Come Standard on Every 2027 Honda HR-V?

With the cold season ahead in Quebec, the 2027 Honda HR-V arrives with a winter kit that sits on every trim, not behind a package. The equipment grid has no optional packs: a feature is on a grade or it is not.

Here is what that kit includes, how it works on a dark January commute, and the few places where the trims part ways.

What Winter Equipment Comes Standard on the HR-V

Three items go straight at winter buildup. A front wiper de-icer clears the windshield area, heated power-adjusting side mirrors keep your rear sightlines clean, and heated front seats warm you up fast. All three are standard on the LX, Sport and EX-L.

A remote engine starter is also standard on every trim, so you can start the cabin warming before you walk out. Front and rear splash guards come standard too, and they handle slush thrown up from salted roads.

LED headlights with auto-on/off, LED taillights and auto high beam headlights round out the visibility side. The LED Daytime Running Lights are standard as well.

How the Traction and Stability Systems Work

On AWD versions, Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System sends drive to the wheels that need it. The LX is offered in 2WD or AWD; the Sport and EX-L are AWD. The drive modes are Normal, ECON and Snow, and Snow mode is the setting made for slick surfaces.

Behind that sit the systems every trim shares:

  • Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control: helps manage a slide or wheelspin.
  • Anti-lock Braking System: keeps the wheels from locking under hard braking.
  • Brake Assist and Electronic Brake-force Distribution: add stopping force and balance it between the wheels.
  • Hill Start Assist: holds the vehicle briefly on an incline so it does not roll back.

The electronic parking brake with automatic brake hold is standard too. It keeps the HR-V planted at a snowy red light without you holding the pedal.

Why It Matters on Winter Roads

Ground clearance is 177.8 mm on the LX and 185.4 mm on the Sport and EX-L. That extra 7.6 mm helps when plow ridges build at the end of a driveway. The tires are all-season on every trim, at 17 inches on the LX and 18 inches on the Sport and EX-L.

The driver-assistive suite gives you extra eyes in poor light and snow-narrowed lanes. Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Blind Spot Information, Cross Traffic Monitor, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation and Traffic Jam Assist are standard on all four versions. The multi-angle rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, proximity key entry and pushbutton start are standard on all of them as well, so you can unlock and start with gloves on.

The differences are small, and they are worth knowing before you choose.

The heated steering wheel is the cold-morning upgrade: it is leather-wrapped and heated on the Sport and EX-L. The EX-L adds front and rear parking sensors, which help in snowbanked lots, plus Low-Speed Braking Control for tight, slow manoeuvres.

Who Benefits Most

The LX suits you if you want the full standard winter kit, including heated seats, the de-icer and heated mirrors, at the lowest entry point. Choose the AWD version for Real Time AWD.

The Sport is the pick if cold hands matter most. You get the heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control and the higher ground clearance.

The EX-L is for you if you want the Sport’s heated wheel plus parking sensors and Low-Speed Braking Control for crowded winter parking.

Getting Your HR-V Ready for Quebec Winters

The 2027 HR-V puts heated seats, a wiper de-icer, heated mirrors, a remote starter, LED lighting and a full set of braking and stability systems on every trim. Heated steering, parking sensors and Low-Speed Braking Control are what separate the grades.
